The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Oscar Stanley as the new UDIA National President.
Oscar is National Director of LAWD’s Development Advisory business, where he leads a team delivering turn-key, whole-of-cycle land development solutions. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Oscar has successfully led the acquisition and delivery of some of Victoria’s most complex and high-profile projects; from large-scale master planned greenfield communities, to high-density urban infill developments.
His previous senior leadership roles at Stockland and the ABN Group have equipped him with a unique, whole-of-market perspective, integrating development, finance, and built-form delivery. At LAWD, he oversees an advisory platform offering fully integrated solutions across the development lifecycle.
Nationally recognised for his expertise in strategic partnerships, Oscar has established strong relationships across the development, finance, and housing sectors. He has played a key role in delivering affordable housing initiatives with both state and federal governments and has helped launch businesses in the fast-growing Land Lease and Horizontal Build-to-Rent markets.
He has served as Vice President of UDIA National and is a member of the Advisory Committee for REA Group’s A Home for All Foundation, reflecting his deep industry knowledge, strong networks, and leadership in shaping the future of Australian housing.
In accepting the role, Mr Stanley said:
“I am honoured to take on the role of UDIA National President and to represent our industry at such a critical time. I would like to sincerely thank Col Dutton for his leadership and tireless advocacy over the past two years, which has positioned UDIA strongly as the peak body for urban development. Building on that foundation, I look forward to working closely with our members, government, and industry partners to unlock the housing supply our nation so urgently needs.”
“The urgency to address housing supply has never been greater,” he added. “Australia’s development industry is ready to deliver more homes. UDIA National will continue working with federal agencies to accelerate environmental approvals, identify enabling infrastructure needs, and advocate for proactive housing policy settings. By getting these right we will turn potential supply into real housing outcomes for communities across the country.”
